  4.     What a way to promote a record! British rocker Elvis Costello
  5. is back in circulation with his latest album, Spike. But there is
  6. one place he won't be playing soon: Buckingham Palace. "I wouldn't
  7. do anything with the royal family," he told Rolling Stone magazine.
  8. "They're scum . . ." a "family of buffoons." Even for the outspoken
  9. Costello, who doesn't think much of the rock concerts sponsored by 
  10. the royals, the remarks were blistering. "What makes them so damn
  11. important? I just don't understand why we subsidize people who seem
  12. to just go on holiday all the time." Now, now, Elvis.
